Things To Think About

Jonathan Davidson, Director of Supervision – retail and authorisations at the UK Financial Conduct Authority, spoke at the 2nd Annual Culture and Conduct Forum for the Financial Services Industry in London about the role of regulators in ‘getting corporate culture right‘.  Everyone’s talking about corporate culture these days.

Notable Litigation Actions

The SCVCA’s confirmation of the trial judge’s orders in  NAB v Rose [2016] VSCA 169 may have “far-reaching consequences for consumer banking“.

The ACCC has amended its statement of claim against ANZ and Westpac in its BBSW unconscionability litigation; it is now consistent with the claim against NAB.

Well, their litigation certainly goes on and on… The Full Federal Court has dismissed NRM’s appeal, confirming the Federal Court’s findings that it acted unconscionably when “frightening men” to sell them treatments for erectile dysfunction.  NRM’s contempt penalty hearing is still pending.
