SmartCompany reports that, following payment of a $10,800 infringment notice issued by the ACCC to Felton Grimwade & Bosisto’s Pty Ltd, “The company told SmartCompany in a statement it “stand[s] by our product and dispute[s] the allegations in the infringement notice.  The ACCC’s investigation and findings are based on a test method which is yet to be independently verified,” the company said, while declining to comment further.”  The ACCC had reason to believe the company’s claim that its tea tree oil was 100% pure, was false.

Pacific Gas & Electric – Aug 2015

After being fined $300M by the California Public Utilities Commission in connection with the gas pipeline explosion that killed residents of San Bruno, California, and destroyed homes, PG&E issued this statement.  It includes the following:

When the CPUC announced its decision on April 9, PG&E chose to move forward without an appeal. The payment to the state’s General Fund is due Oct. 6. The company recently completed the sale of additional stock necessary to fund the payment.

We’ve made tremendous progress, but we have more to do and we are committed to doing it right,” PG&E Corporation Chairman and CEO Tony Earley said.
